Between 1939 and 1972 the Cherry Blossom Festival was the biggest event on the spring calendar in Orange. The festival and parade raised funds for community projects and attracted hundreds of locals and tourists to the area.
One of the many interesting objects that the museum has recently acquired is a set of pins from the 1950-60s of the Cherry Blossom Queens and Queen Candidates. The Queen was crowned with a specially crafted replica of the crown of the House of Orange in Holland, as Orange is believed to have been named after the Prince of Orange.
