Paddock to Plate – Exhibition Education Programs 2018

In conjunction with Orange Regional Museums new exhibition Paddock to Plate: a history of food and wine in the Orange district, opening April 2018 hands on learning programs will be offered for students of all ages.

The exhibition offers students in kinder and years 1-2 science, years 1-5 history and geography and year 11-food technology the opportunity to engage with the history, processes and production of food in their local region.

Tours, worksheets and workshops will be available free of charge for students to engage with exhibition content.

Teachers are encourage to get in contact with the Museum to discuss specific requirements and units of study.

Stage 1-2 Topics:

People and Place – Past and Present
Local history sessions based on comparative studies of Orange in the past and present. Sessions can focus on specific individuals and sites included in the exhibition and relevant to units of study.

Curriculum connections: History/Geography Stage 1-3

Orange – a liveable city?
A geography workshop that will ask why people came to Orange? Why they stayed? How they transformed the landscape? And what impact people have had on the land?

Workshop will use key site studies drawn from exhibition content.
